Sweaters.
Sweaters are one of the reasons I don’t brush my teeth with toothpaste anymore.
What do sweaters have to do with teeth? Well…they shouldn’t be there. That is exactly the problem. You know that feeling you get on your teeth at the end of the day that feels all fuzzy? Well…in our family we call those sweaters and I don’t like them one bit ( and recently, my 10 year old daughter is tired of them too, and is now converted!
About 5 years ago, I had converted my whole family to start using Tom’s of Maine. Loving that at the end of the day, there were no fuzzy sweaters on our teeth, it was easy to convert them. Then maybe 2 years ago, I noticed that my Tom’s of Main toothpaste wasn’t so amazing anymore. I did a little research to find that Tom’s of Maine was bought out (and sold out) to a big, big toothpaste company. Boo. I didn’t know what I should use instead, so I just kept using it.
In general, I have been trying to find ways to put less chemicals in my body and my family’s bodies. A few month ago, I was at my local health food store and saw this product: Earthpaste (affiliate links included for your convenience) . I figured I should try it…I mean, who doesn’t want to brush their teeth with dirt or clay to be exact.
I must say, it was a wonderful surprise! The consistency was much like a cross between clay and toothpaste. The flavor was delish (cinnamon is our new favorite!), even my kiddos liked it! But the best part was that my teeth never, I mean never, had sweaters on them! It is so wonderful!
Cure Tooth Decay!
The key to why Earthpaste doesn’t cause sweaters on teeth is that it doesn’t have any glycerin in it. One of the reasons I stopped using glycerin on my teeth was because I read this book: Cure Tooth Decay.
It just never made sense to me that bones can break and heal themselves, scratches and cuts heal themselves, but according to conventional dentistry, once the enamel is off our teeth, it can never repair itself.
I just didn’t buy it, and this book, Cure Tooth Decay, helped explain why. Its a great read and is definitely worth the read, especially if you are skeptical like myself.
So. There it is. We, the Eylander Family, brush our teeth with dirt, aka Earthpaste.
If you are looking for ways to help your family be healthier, toothpaste is a wonderful place to start!
