Last year about this time, my 6th grade daughter was all stoked about MIDDLE SCHOOL starting! I was a little sad…I have to say…my BABY was old enough to be in middle school??? It didn’t seem possible, but here she was, planning on all the amazing decorations she was going to put up in her locker!
Locker decorations seem to be the new thing for middle school students! We made some DIY magnets, painted some shelves and even hung an electric chandelier! While we were setting up at 6th Grader’s Night, my daughter got so many compliments on her locker…she felt like a million bucks and was ready for anything on the first day of school. Its amazing the amount of confidence a decorated locker can give a student. I didn’t realize how much it would make her feel like home. She shared her magnets and gum with friends and she really enjoyed it.
This summer, we’ve been talking about what we can do for her locker this year and we came up with a few more fun ideas! We ended up making sequined Monogram Letter Magnet and have some more fun ideas to share with you! She decided that she wanted lots and lots of photos of her friends and family to greet her everyday when she opened up her locker, so we ended up picking up a new printer (our old one hasn’t printed clear photos in YEARS!)
We headed to Wal-Mart and picked up this lovely number: an HP Deskjet 3752.
One of the coolest features about this printer is that you can print directly from your phone. I love it! There are so many photos on my phone that can now be transformed from living somewhere in cyber space to my fridge, wall or in this case, my daughter’s locker.
All I needed to do was download the HP App All in One Remote, connect to the printer via wireless network and boom! I was printing in no time. I think it took about 10 minutes from opening the box to printing all the photos my daughter wanted for her locker magnets! She was completely impressed too!
One of the other features that I LOVE about this printer is that it is totally portable and tiny! When I saw the box…I was like, how is this a printer and scanner??? But it is amazing and I loved that I could take it downstairs to my craft zone, print from my phone for my magnets and bring it back up to my office without any issue. Totally different from my old massive printer! It’s the world’s tiniest printer! Crazy!
These sweet little magnets are so easy, your middle school can join in on the fun!
