So my new favorite way to make baby food is with my incredible Instant Pot! Did you know you could make homemade healthy baby food in just 10 minutes with an Instant Pot? What the heck is an Instant Pot? Let me inform you!!
An Instant Pot is the newest, wildly popular kitchen gadget to come on the kitchen scene. It has 7 pre-programmed functions, (rice cooker, pressure cooker, slow cooker, saute pan and more!) but it can do tons more just on the manual setting (I actually haven’t even used it off manual yet!)
I longingly looked at so many Instant Pot (my affiliate link) recipes on Pinterest for about a month before pulling the trigger and buying one on amazon. I DID go to all of my local box stores trying to find it…and lo and behold, they only carried electric pressure cookers with teflon pots on the inside. I’m trying to lower my chemical intake, so I really didn’t want to buy a pressure cooker with teflon. So I had to skip the instant gratification (see what I did there???)..and wait the 3 weeks it would take to finally get to mine in the mail! Let me tell you, it is worth the money and the wait!As a mom of kids, including a 5 month old, I love how the instant pot works! Its kind of a crock pot on steroids. It can do lots of different things, but the key is that you start it and then you can walk away, just like a crock pot. But it is wayyyyyy faster! I cooked mashed potatoes last night in 8 minutes (post coming soon about that!). I’ve cooked a whole body chicken in 35 minutes. I’ve made some incredibly easy bbq chicken legs…the list goes on! Needless to say, I use this amazing kitchen tool about 4 times a week or more.
