5 tips to interview your kids:
1. DO IT! Just grab your phone or DSLR with video and start taping. That is the main thing! One can never, never go back in time (duh, but we need this reminder!) so just grab little clips of your kids when you can. It doesn’t need to be perfect, just the memory is important.
2. Ask Questions:
- How old are you?
- What is your name?
- What do you like to do?
- What is your favorite color?
- What is your favorite thing to do?
3. Ask them to show you something: they can dance, jump, sing a song, show you an art piece, show you their favorite toy or book or pet.
4. Have them tell you about you.
- Where does mommy work?
- Where does daddy work?
- Does sister go to school?
- What did we do today?
5. Go on a walk around the house or neighborhood.
- Ask them to show you their room
- Have them show you their favorite flower or tree.
- Ask them what the weather is like today.
If I can encourage you to do anything…record your kids doing cute stuff. It just never gets old and it is something that they love to watch when they get older. Its a treasure that will keep on giving for years to come!
